Thailand Records 1.1 Million Tourist Arrivals in First 11 Days of 2026
BANGKOK – Thailand welcomed over 1.1 million international visitors in the first 11 days of 2026, generating approximately 55.03 billion baht in tourism revenue, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Although the figure represents a 7.02% decrease compared to the same period last year, the sustained volume underscores the country’s ongoing recovery and appeal as a global destination.

The ministry highlighted a robust rebound across key markets, with Chinese tourists leading arrivals during the week of January 5–11. South Korea also rose significantly in visitor rankings, moving from eighth to fifth place, reflecting growing diversity in Thailand’s tourism sources.

Weekly data showed a 2.78% increase in arrivals from January 5–11, totaling 745,158 tourists. Chinese arrivals surged by 24.07%, while Indian tourist numbers grew by 8.20%. In contrast, Russian arrivals saw a slight decline of 3.89%, and Malaysian visitors dropped by 26.49%.
